    Vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene, and many other Gaia’s Protocol Review plant-based nutrients are important antioxidants. Free radicals, which occur naturally when our bodies transform food into energy, can be blocked by antioxidants. It is thought that the build-up of free radicals over time may be largely responsible for the aging process. Free radicals can also contribute to the development of poor health.
